Faith and Steadfastness

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:2-6 ESV)

A few verses that have been encouraging me the past few days.

Commute

One of the best and honest times of worship is when I’m driving back home late at night. Been listening to old school Hillsong haha

Tithe

Got my first paycheck on Friday and seeing the amount of money was another reminder of just how faithful God has been in my life. And James, David, Isaac, and I even got to bless our FG with a post-Quest meal as we all got paid recently. Today during QT, I got to prepare myself to tithe tomorrow and God even speaks to me with the verse of the day:

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5 ESV)

I really want to make tithing an act of worship that I prepare and give with the right heart. The opportunity God has given me with this Co-op is truly a blessing.

Surrender and Be Near

Surrender

I’m giving you my heart, and all that is within
I lay it all down for the sake of you my King
I’m giving you my dreams, I’m laying down my rights
I’m giving up my pride for the promise of new life

And I surrender all to you, all to you
And I surrender all to you, all to you

I’m singing You this song, I’m waiting at the cross
And all the world holds dear, I count it all as loss
For the sake of knowing You for the glory of Your name
To know the lasting joy, even sharing in Your pain

This song is so powerful…especially verse 1

Be Near

You are all
big and small
beautiful
and wonderful
to trust in grace through faith
but i’m asking to taste…

for dark is light to You
depths are height to You
far is near
but Lord, i need to hear from You

be near, oh God
be near, oh God of us
Your nearness is to us our good
be near, oh God
be near, oh God of us
Your nearness is to us our good, our good

Your fullness is mine
revelation divine
but, o, to taste
to know much more than a page
to feel Your embrace…

These songs have been my songs of prayer that I have been listening to and I really hope I go through this semester with this desire…”oh to taste, to know much more than a page, to feel Your embrace”. I want to know you more than just the words that I read or the songs that I sing.

1 John 5:14-15

14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
